Keith Waterhouse - Mrs Pooter's Diary (2nd Hand Paperback)
Synopsis
The Diary of a Nobody is one of the great classics of English humour. Mrs. Pooter's Diary is more than a brilliant homage to the original, it is a wonderful comic creation in its own right written from Mrs Pooter's perspective.
If you've read the former, then Mrs Pooter's comments within are very amusing, giving a sense of a slight irritation with her husband and in particular his rather odd sense of humour but her love for him also comes through clearly. A very clever riposte to Charles Pooter's diary, with the added delight that unbeknown to him, she regularly read his diary.

External Reviews
"Absolutely loved it. I always wished they did a sequel but Keith Waterhouse has done the next best thing by giving us Mrs P's perspective on the original events. Such a clever thing to do and the original was still fresh enough in my mind to enjoy the dual perspective. The loveliest thing about this book is that it has no ambition to supersede the original - it is the perfect complement." - Amazon Review.
"Keith Waterhouse's excellent "sequel" or literary counterpart to George and Weedon Grossmith's English classic epistolary comic novel, "The Diary of a Nobody," in which Charles Pooter records the events of his life, is a funny and spot-on look at those events from the point of view of Caroline, Pooter's wife. Wonderful in its own right, "Mrs. Pooter's Diary" just might top Mr. Pooter's, in my humble, nobody opinion!" - Goodreads Review.
