"A lot of nice licks in this book, in different styles, small size book easy to take away with you. If you like playing Blues, go for it."
"I've been working with this book for a few weeks and I'm really impressed with it. The writer and publisher did an excellent job on it.
Firstly, the book itself is high quality. It has a sturdy cover, with nice, thick, glossy pages, and it's spiral bound so it opens easy.
Second, it's absolutely loaded with information. In addition to the 100 licks, the book contains a history of the blues, an explanation on how to read guitar tablature, the numbering system for chords, a recommended listening section, and information on both he major and minor pentatonic scales, the blues scale, and the Mixolydian scale.
Third, this book offers a collection of licks drawn from a wide variety of blues genres and artists. It does highlight some artists more than others, but by and large it offers wide exposure to all the main blues subgenera's and a lot of different guitarists. Plus, the book offers riffs, turnarounds, and parts of solos.
Fourth, every lick is accompanied by some background (like artists that used it or historical context), some theory, and some guidance for playing it. I found that really helpful in tackling each lick."- Amazon Reviews.
