The Editors

Val McDermid is one of the biggest names in crime writing. Her novels have been translated into 40 languages, sold over 16 million copies worldwide. Val has created many notable characters such as journalist, Lindsay Gordon; the private investigator, DCI Karen Pirie, Kate Brannigan, and psychologist, Tony Hill.

Jo Sharp is a  feminist political geographer with varied research interests including postcolonialism, health, and critical geopolitics. Much of her early work sought to extend what is considered to be the geopolitical beyond the formal spheres of statecraft to include popular culture and the everyday, and this has continued through my more recent postcolonial work on subaltern geopolitics.
