Stanley Road is the third solo album by Paul Weller, released by Go! Discs in 1995.
In 1998 Q magazine readers voted it the 46th greatest album of all time. The album took its name from the street in Woking where Weller grew up.
It's generally accepted to be his best album.
Stanley Road arrived in 1995 and confirmed beyond any doubt that the former Jam frontman had completed one of the most remarkable creative revivals in British music. Named after the Woking street where he grew up, the record is steeped in nostalgia and self-reflection, yet sounds anything but backward-looking - drawing on classic soul, blues and psychedelia to produce something warm, expansive and deeply felt.

"This album has class and it sees Paul Weller once again firmly in control of every aspect: he wrote all the songs bar a cover of Dr. John's "I Walk on Gilded Splinters"; he co-produced it and, apart from his earthy vocals, he plays guitar, piano, organ and percussion. All the tracks are special, but it's the three hits - "Changingman", "Broken Stones" and the truly wonderful "You Do Something To Me" - that really stand out, as does "Porcelain Gods", which has something of the old Style Council about it. Soulful, the style is underlined by Carleen Anderson's rich backing vocals on five of the tracks.
