Synopsis

Harry Potter # 6.

When Dumbledore arrives at Privet Drive one summer night to collect Harry Potter, his wand hand is blackened and shrivelled, but he does not reveal why.

Returning to Hogwarts, Harry starts to suspect some of his fellow students have aligned themselves with the Dark Lord, but can he prove it before they put their evil plan in action?

With rumours abounding about the Half-Blood Prince, Harry, Hermione and Ron try to find out who it could be, and Dumbledore does his best to prepare Harry for his foretold battle with Voldemort. The decisions they all make will have lasting consequences that could change the rest of their lives.

In this sixth instalment, Harry's journey progresses and builds to a shocking climax, rounding off the backstories of all the main characters before the final, epic showdown with Voldemort.

Harry will need powerful magic and true friends as he explores Voldemort's darkest secrets, and Dumbledore prepares him to face his destiny.

It's time to pass the magic on . . .

External Reviews

'I've yet to meet a ten-year-old who hasn't been entranced by its witty, complex plot and the character of the eponymous Harry.' - Independent.

'Spellbinding, enchanting, bewitching stuff.' - Mirror.

"This remains one of my top favourite HP books! The Voldemort origins, the Dumbledore/Harry business, Draco's mission, the Snape reveal, and the moment the trio decide to not return to Hogwarts so they can stop Voldemort once and for all. It's a book that manages to balance so much darkness with light . . ."

"Time for interesting little subplots is over. We've arrived finally, where everything is closely tied to the core of the story and progressing fast. It's always delightful to see, everything that was great about the series still remains the same, if not better." - Goodreads Reviews.
