The Author

Pat (Pasquale) Manocchia was born and grew up in Providence, Rhode Island. He graduated with Honors from Brown University with a degree in Classics. There, he was the recipient of the Charles Alexander Robinson Trophy for varsity ice hockey, and the Francis Driscoll 64' Premium, awarded by the Classics Department. After graduating he played professional ice hockey in Europe.

He is the founder and CEO of La Palestra Center for Preventative Medicine, With over 30 years of experience in the health and fitness industry and is nationally recognized as a leader in the field. He has authored and published peer reviewed research in the "Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research" and "Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise". Pat has authored two books, "Anatomy of Exercise" and "Anatomy of Strength training; The 5 Essential exercises", which is a New York Times Bestseller.
