Synopsis

Ever since people first took to the water, boats and ships have had a unique influence on our history. Ship unveils the drama, splendour, and excitement of that remarkable story, illustrating centuries of exploration, endeavour, and conflict.

This book provides an outstanding study of our maritime past and present. It's a sweeping, magnificently illustrated story of our exploits above and beneath the waves.

Whether you're a Master, Commander or Pirate of the Caribbean, this is the vessel for you. From the earliest canoes to today's sophisticated ocean-going giants, witness the drama, the splendour and excitement of the ship's story above and below the waves.

Published with the usual DK quality and produced in association with the National Maritime Museum.

    External Reviews

"WoW what a magnificent book - well done to the maritime museum for their work in compiling it. Images aplenty on each page and overlaid onto larger images making it a super reading experience. Mu hubbie and I buy reference books and many DK books but this is just as good to use as info and to dream of far off lands reached by a grand clipper or galleon of old. Beautiful text and info well researched . . . What a truly wonderful prize." - Google Reviews.

"This is the ultimate guide to every aspect of the ship." - Ships Monthly.
